Trenton Catholic Academy sixth through 12th graders joined together to doo-wop their way through the first all-school musical.

Drama clubs and music programs from TCA’s upper and lower schools collaborated for the first time to produce Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood, which tells the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood with a 50s’ music twist.

In the show, three princes set out to “woo” Red Riding Hood, who was played by seventh grader Morgan Rhodes of Hamilton.

The show featured traditional fairy tale components such as a godmother, played by sophomore Leslie Henry of Trenton, and an evil queen, played by senior Stacey Labissiere of Bordentown.

TCA president Sister Dorothy Payne said the collaboration was “a great opportunity for the younger children to learn from the high school students as they work together.”

Lower School students comprised one-third of the cast and the musical’s choreographers were high school students.
