“Soup 4 You” competition to return

Community members have the opportunity to judge a soup competition.

Rotary Club of Hamilton Township’s second annual “Soup 4 You” Cook-Off is scheduled for 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at Reynolds Middle School, 2145 Yardville-Hamilton Square Road, Hamilton.

Restaurants will prepare their best soups and participants will vote on their favorites. Last year, Mamma Rosa’s Restaurant in Hamilton won the Grand Championship with their Potato with Horseradish and Bacon Soup. La Piazza in Hamilton won Chef’s Choice for their Cream Roaster Red Pepper with Chicken soup.

Participating restaurants include Mamma Rosa’s, La Piazza, Jersey Girl, Il Cielo, Mastoris, DubhLinn Pub, Villa Barone, Killarney’s Publick House and Maninno’s 3.

In addition to the soup tastings, the Culinary Arts students of Mercer County Technical School will provide a variety of specialty breads and rolls.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and free for children eight years old.

Proceeds from the event support scholarships for Hamilton Township graduating seniors.
