The Mercer County Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation raised $4,000 at its ice cream party fundraiser at Rosa’s Restaurant in Hamilton. More than 300 people participated in the event. Rosa’s owner Rosa Spera-Gilmore donated $500 to the organization. Pictured are event co-chair Eileen P. Thornton, Spera-Gilmore and chapter president Cathy DiCostanzo.

The Sunshine Foundation’s mission is to respond to the dreams of chronically ill, physically challenged and abused children ages three to 18, whose families cannot fulfill dream requests because of the financial difficulties that the child’s illness may cause.
