Morgan Elementary School students celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday with special Read Across America Week activities.
Students participated in several theme days and attended two assemblies throughout the week.
The Morgan community kicked off the week by honoring Theodor Seuss Geisel, also know as Dr. Seuss. Students wore Dr. Seuss themed clothing to school.
On Tuesday, students and staff wore ties to school to celebrate Getting Tied Up in a Good Book Day.
For Wordy Wednesday – Reading is Everywhere, students wore clothes with words on them.
The school’s hallways were a sea of red on Thursday; students wore red to show “We Are All Well Read Readers.”
Friday was dedicated to snuggling up with a good book. Students wore pajamas to school.
Two visitors presented reading themed assemblies.
Children’s author Rachelle Burk’s presentation encouraged the students to become lifelong readers and writers.
Ronald McDonald’s Reading Assembly inspired the children to read for fun, to respect and value books, and encouraged them to set aside time to read each day.
