Students at Kisthardt Elementary School participated in New Jersey’s School Violence Awareness Week from Oct. 20-24.

During the week, students engaged in themed class discussion, role play and story time. Students in grades K-5 created signs with peace slogans, such as “Be Kind to Others,” “Peace in School” and “Use Words, Not Hands”.

The week’s activities culminated in Kisthardt’s 2nd Annual Peace Walk that Friday, when students carried the signs in a silent march around the school block.
