Hamilton Police investigate fatal shooting near Nottingham Fire Company

The Hamilton Police Division is investigating a shooting death that occurred behind the Nottingham Fire Company at 200 Mercer St. The victim is a 76 year-old male who police believe to be a resident of the 100 block of Park Avenue in Hamilton Square.

A release from the HPD said there is currently no suspicion of foul play and early observations indicate the wound may have been self-inflicted. An autopsy will be performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.
