The Holy Angels and Saint Raphael Alumni Association of Saint Raphael Holy Angels Parish in Hamilton will host its 4th Annual “Pizzeria Showdown” contest on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Local restaurants have be invited to gather at the Saint Raphael Holy Angels Parish Center, 3500 S. Broad St. from 5:30 to 8 p.m. to show off their most popular Pizza and offer savory tastings to more than 300 guests. Baked goods and non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided. This is a B.Y.O.B. event.

Last year’s Showdown attracted approximately 300 people who enjoyed tasting all the participating restaurant’s pizzas. The two top honors went to Jeppy’s Gourmet Pizza Shop & Ice Cream in Hamilton and Sfizio Pizza On a Whim in Bordentown. Attendees will be able to vote for the best tasting pizza and best restaurant. The two top honors/restaurants awarded will be “Grand Pizza Champion” and the “Pizzaiolo (Pizza Chef).”

Organizers say proceeds will go to the Annual Alumni Association Student Awards fund established to award talented and future alumni of the Saint Raphael School graduating class.

Tickets are $12.50 per adult, $6 for children 6 to 11 years old and free for children 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event or they can be reserved prior to the event. Take advantage of the limited time 20 percent discount offer available for tickets purchased before Sept. 30.

Restaurant vendors can call (609) 223-0296 or e-mail funzrlow@optonline.net for information.
