Hamilton Elks award essay winners

The Hamilton Elks awarded six Americanism essay contest winners on May 9, 2013.

Contest entrants were asked “what does the National Anthem Mean to Me?” The contest was open to students in fifth through eighth grade and 100 essays were submitted.

All winners attend Trenton Catholic Academy.

In Division I, for fifth and sixth graders, Emil Jagielski won first place, Grace Nkurunziza won second and Jessica Borzymowski won third place.

In Division II, for seventh and eight grader, Devin Harris won first place, Taylor Griffith won second place and Keily Escobar won third place.

First-place winners received $100, second place received $75 and third place received $50.
