Former NFL pro Jessie Armstead visits Hamilton football camp

The young athletes taking part in the free Hamilton Pop Warner Youth Football camp took a short break from practice thanks to two surprise visitors July 30.

Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly Yaede invited notable Hamiltonian and former NFL All-Pro Jessie Armstead to Ralston Field in Hamilton Township to speak with the campers.

The former New York Giant, who remains with the organization as a Special Assistant of Player Development, co-owns Hamilton Honda automotive dealership.

Mayor Yaede also spoke to players about how sports helped her learn the importance of teamwork and perseverance, which have helped guide her in her professional career.

After speaking with the young athletes, both Armstead and Mayor Yaede took time for a few questions from the football camp attendees, before they returned to the field.
