The Teal Tea Foundation is set to host the 9th Annual Teal Tea on Sunday, May 3 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at John Henry’s Stone Terrace located at 2275 Kuser Road in Hamilton.

This year’s theme is, “BELIEVE in MAGIC Finding a Cure for Ovarian Cancer.” Table captains and guests will use their imaginations and creativity to decorate tables inspired by the theme. An annual decorating competition for the best interpretation of the theme guarantees a delight for the senses will be held. Teal is the color that represents the fight against ovarian cancer.

The event will feature keynote speaker David Warshal, MD, Vice-Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooper University Health Care, and Head of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.

Joining Dr. Warshal will be Dr. Cindy Otto, a tenured associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia.

In addition to the keynote speakers, the Teal Tea will include a plated lunch, a magic show, silent and live auctions, a fancy hat contest, table decorating contests, and special comments from and recognition of ovarian cancer survivors. The 2015 Teal Tea is dedicated to the memory of past president, Shari Widmayer, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in July 2014.

Funds raised from the Tea will be donated to Stand Up to Cancer’s world-wide, ovarian cancer research team. The Teal Tea Foundation has pledged $50,000 to fund the SU2C initiative.

Tickets cost $60. Advanced registration is required at tealtea.org.
