As part of its Forever Young program, PEAC Health & Fitness is set to host a visit and presentation from Moira Nilsson and her therapy dog, Mia.

During her presentation , Nilsson, of Pennington, is set to discuss the importance of walking a dog daily, as well as answer questions and allow time for discussion. She will also demonstrate some of Mia’s tricks and show the participants how they can do the same with their pets at home.

Mia is a 7-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever, who is trained as a therapy dog with Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. Therapy dogs are trained to promote healing, relaxation and boost happiness in people in various circumstances, including hospitals, hospice, schools, and disaster areas.

Nilsson recognized Mia’s calm temperament and personality, and was eager to have her work with people in therapeutic settings. Mia has visited local school children and senior citizens.
