Police are investigating a series of residential burglaries that occurred overnight between Monday, July 28, and Tuesday, July 29, in the River Road, Scudder Road and Bernard Drive neighborhoods.

According to the Ewing Township Police Department, five home break-ins were reported during that span. In several cases, suspects located keys inside the homes and used them to steal vehicles parked outside.

“Our officers and detectives are actively working on the investigation,” police said in a statement Tuesday.

Authorities are asking residents to remain vigilant and review their home security measures. Police also released a list of burglary prevention tips:

Lock all doors and windows, even when at home.Install a home security system with alarms and cameras.Use motion-activated or smart exterior lighting.Keep valuables out of view from windows.Avoid posting vacation plans on social media until after returning.Always secure garages and doors that lead into the home.

Anyone with information or video footage that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Detective Massi at dmassi@ewingnj.org or 609-882-1313 ext. 5566.
