Hit one across the court to support services for mentally ill and developmentally disabled individuals at the Volley for SERV Tennis Tournament. The 23rd annual daylong event hosted by SERV Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. is set for June 17 at Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman.

The event features a seven-division tennis tournament followed by an evening reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, dinner, open bar, live entertainment, silent auction, Super Cash Raffle drawing, player awards and recognition of honorees Jack H. Fein and Donald J. Loff.

Fein, a resident of Holland, Pa., will receive The SERVice Award, given to a SERV board member in appreciation of demonstrated leadership and commitment to the mission of SERV. Fein, who has served for 14 years, is treasurer of the SERV Board of Directors. He is a principal with The Mercadien Group, an accounting and management consulting firm in Hamilton, where he works with more than 85 nonprofit organizations.

Fein serves as treasurer of the Committee on Religious Ministries at The University Medical Center at Princeton, is a member of the advisory boards for RomAsia Bank and Rutgers MACCY Program in Governmental Accounting and is assistant treasurer of The Rotary Club of Princeton Foundation. In addition, he is publisher and editor-in-chief of the Nonprofit Examiner, a nationally syndicated publication and a founding member of Shir Ami Bucks County Jewish Congregation.

Loff will receive the third annual Lou Natale Jr. Players Award, which acknowledges an individual for continued support of SERV through participation in and sponsorship of Volley For SERV. Loff, a resident of Raritan Township, has competed in and served on the commitee of nearly all of the previous tournaments and is a longtime supporter of SERV’s fundraising efforts. Loff is currently a senior vice president for investments at Merrill Lynch..

Net profits from Volley For SERV benefit special SERV programs, including the Scholarship Fund and the annual Recovery NJ health-and-wellness event for consumers and their families.

The $195 cost for an individual Volley for SERV player includes a tournament spot, VFS shirt, courtside lunch, commemorative team photo and the evening dinner reception with open bar. Reception only tickets are $90.
