School district employees celebrate anniversaries

At the Welcome Back Convocation on Sept. 1 seven district staff members were recognized for 20 years of service to the Bordentown Regional School District. Debra Field, transportation. Field has been working as bus driver and driver trainer for the past 20 years. She transports Burlington County Institute students safely and efficiently every day.Karen Harrison, science teacher, Bordentown Regional High School. Harrison has been a mainstay in the Bordentown Regional High School science department for 20 years. Her specialty is biology, including an Advanced Placement section. Harrison also leads the BRHS Environmental Club. Connie Johns, district aide, Peter Muschal Elementary School. Johns has served in various capacities around the district for the past 20 years. Currently, she is a second grade classroom aide and supervisor for the before and after care programs at Peter Muschal Elementary School. Patrick Moore, maintenance mechanic. Moore previously worked as a head custodian/grounds employee for the BRSD early in his career. He advanced to the maintenance department as a maintenance mechanic in 2015. He is currently the senior maintenance mechanic. He recently completed, with assistance from a fellow maintenance staff member, a water renovation plan project for lead water. In May of this year, he completed an intensive five-day, 40 hour national locksmith course for facility locksmiths. Toby Sebelist, guidance counselor, Bordentown Regional Middle School. Sebelist taught three years of special education in West Windsor prior to starting in Bordentown in 1997. She spent about two and a half years at Peter Muschal, and half a year at the high school before joining the junior school in 2000. She is now at the middle school teaching special education. She became a counselor at the middle school in February 2007. Cynthia Wagstaff, Spanish teacher, BRHS. Wagstaff is a leader of the school’s world language department and advisor of the Spanish Club. Linda Simonelli, secretary, BRHS. Simonelli has worked at Peter Muschal, BRMS and now BRHS. Currently, Simonelli splits her time between athletics and building administration.
