Bordentown City is set to provide several opportunities this December for residents and visitors to celebrate with holiday cheer.

On Dec. 6, stroll through Downtown Bordentown to enjoy the sounds of caroling and the smell of roasting chestnuts, and sample an array of chocolates from local businesses as part of the annual Chocolate Walk. The walk is scheduled from 5-9 p.m. — participants should print out their passports, where they can mark down the places they’ve traveled. To print a passport, go online to downtownbordentown.com.

Residents can also see the town from a different point of view in a horse drawn carriage. Carriage rides are set to be offered from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 14 and 4-8 p.m. Dec. 15, and start at the corner of Farnsworth Avenue and Walnut Street. Also available will be hot chocolate, kettle corn and roasted chestnuts. Cost is $20 per person, $10 for children. To reserve a time, call Rebecca’s Vintage Boutique & Consignment Shop at (609) 298-9422.

On Dec. 14, the charms of some of Bordentown’s most festive and historic homes will be on display for the public as part of the Holiday House Tour from 3-7 p.m. Included on the tour are the Clara Barton Schoolhouse and Friends Meeting House, as well as private homes. For more information, call Patti DeSantis at (609) 298-9181.
