Burlington County College 2015 budget approved by Board of Trustees

Burlington County College’s fiscal year 2015 budget was approved by the college’s Board of Trustees.

The proposed $43.9 million budget will be supported by a 3.1% increase in the tuition and fees rate.

In terms of academics, the budget includes a continued commitment to add two full-time faculty members every year, a new full-time advising position to help students transfer to a four-year program or find a career, increased capacity of the college’s distance learning programs and new initiatives to better prepare high school students that are “college-willing, but not yet college-ready.”

The budget also focuses on preparing students for the workforce by increasing resources to support the county’s Workforce Development Initiative, adding new programs that reflect the needs of the private sector and growing a workforce training program.

Other highlights of the budget include putting more technology in the classrooms, increasing bandwidth and network speed on campus, replacing antiquated heating and cooling equipment and providing an emergency generator.

Final approval for county support is required from the Burlington County Board of School Estimates.
