The Burlington County Coalition for Healthy Communities along with local students organized an alcohol awareness event that left liquor store patrons in “sticker shock.”

Florence and Bordentown Regional High School students placed stickers on alcohol products at area liquor stores to discourage adults from providing alcohol to minors.

According to the Coalition for Healthy Communities, Burlington County children begin drinking alcohol between 10 and 12 years old.

The Sticker Shock event took place at Boyd’s Pharmacy and Discount Liquor in Bordentown and Florence Wine and Liquor Shop May 1.

Student Activities Counselors Nell Geiger of BRHS and John Lamaestra of FHS helped organized the event.
