Bordentown resident Jayce Palumbo donated 97 backpacks filled with school supplies to the Boys and Girls Club of Trenton Aug. 17. The bags were packs with items like scissors, glue, rulers, lunchbags, folders, books, crayons, colored pencils and more.

Palumbo solicited donations from family and friends. Some people, he said, provided multiple donations. He set a goal of 75 bags and exceeded that by over 20 in three weeks.

Palumbo said he was inspired by his friend who recently held a coat drive. He hopes to collect and donate even more bags and supplies next year.
