YMCA and TASK to host Healthy Kids Day

Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and YMCA of Trenton are partnering to host a National Healthy Kids Day event.

Build a Happier, Healthier Kid is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 at Trenton YMCA, 431 Pennington Ave., Trenton.

Healthy Kids Day is a nationwide initiative hosted by YMCA to expose kids to activities that keep their mind and body active.

The KidsFest component of the event is being co-sponsored by TASK and is an outgrowth of SouperFest held last year to celebrate the soup kitchen’s 30th anniversary.

Healthy Kids Day is set to feature boxing, martial arts, healthy snacks, face painting, balloon twisters, vendors, African dance, Zumba for kids, golf, health screenings and lacrosse.

The Devastation Dance Crew, Community Dance Academy, Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart Clowning Academy and Jay the Magician are scheduled to perform.

Admission is free.
