West Windsor Township has received a $220,000 grant from the state to be used toward resurfacing Roszel Road, while Plainsboro has received $375,000 toward the second phase of improvements on Edgemere Avenue.
According to a press release from the state Department of Transportation, the grants were awarded as part of $78.75 million awarded to municipalities across the state to help advance street improvement, safety, and other projects without burdening local taxpayers.
“This grant is another example of the ongoing cooperation between the township and the state for the improvement of our local transportation network,” said Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh. “We will continue to participate in all available programs to improve and protect West Windsor as well as save taxpayers money.”
Hsueh said the township has been working hard to make sure it improves the traffic situation around town. “I wish we could do all of it in one shot, but it’s not easy. We just have to make sure we set up the priorities and take care of them one at a time.”
