Before and after school programs are available for students up to eighth grade; kindergarten extension offers a full day program option for students; adult education programs beginning in October offer a large range of programs for all ages.
There will be an open house for registered students on Wednesday, September 6, at 10 a.m at Millstone River School. For information call 609-716-5030, ext. 5024.
“With support of the school district and the board of education, community education meets the needs of the community by offering a very special program for students in kindergarten through grade eight,” says Marci Rubin, director of WW-P Community Education.
Opening its doors at 7 a.m. and closing at 6 p.m. and serving a nutritious breakfast and healthy afternoon snacks, students participate in educational and fun activities every morning and afternoon at the district’s six elementary schools. Students also have the opportunity to complete homework and participate in special activities and clubs. For older students, community education offers a program entitled S.U.C.C.E.S.S. (Students Understanding Child Care, Enriching Student/Social Skills) for grades 7 and 8 students, which gives these children the opportunity to learn new skills, develop interests, participate in community service, and work with younger children.
