Thanks to a recent shipment of additional flu vaccine West Windsor has announced an increased availability to certain township residents.##M:[more]##
According to Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh, the township is now in a position to vaccinate all high risk individuals who attend vaccination clinics on Tuesday, November 23, at the West Windsor Township Senior Center between from 1 and 3 p.m., and 6 and 8 p.m.
Residents qualifying for the vaccinations include:
• Children 6 to 23 months;
• Adults ages 65 and older;
• People with underlying chronic medical conditions;
• All women who will be pregnant during the influenza season;
• Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities;
• Children between six months and 18 years old on chronic aspirin therapy;
• Health-care workers involved in direct patient care; and
• Out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children ages six months or younger.
A physician’s prescription must be brought to the clinic for anyone who is requesting the vaccine based upon a chronic illness or non age-related high risk group. Proof of residency is also required.
