West Windsor Community Farmers Market opens its fifth season on Saturday, May 10. Similar to the first four seasons, the market will be held every Saturday morning between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. through late October. A community minded endeavor since its inception, its prime objective is to bring a sampling of locally produced farm-based fresh products as presented by a number of farms and vendors in the area to area residents. Aside from organically grown produce, the market’s offerings include specialty fruits and vegetables, meat, artisan breads, pastries, pies, fresh flowers, and entertainment.
In the market’s tradition, a wide range of cultural and family events will also be featured. Participating vendors include Cherry Grover Organic Farm, organic beef, pork, lamb, and cheeses; Chia-Xin Florist and Gardener, Asian produce, bedding, and hanging plants; ER & Son Organic Farm, organic produce; Griggstown Quail Farm, poultry, chicken pot pies, and fruit pies; Grossman Farm, flowers and produce; Krowicki Farm, seasonal NJ produce; North Slope Organic Farm, organic produce; Silver Forge Farm, eggs and produce; Stults Farm, seasonal NJ produce; and Terhune Orchards, apples, cider, vegetables, and flowers.
Non-farm vendors include Crescent Moon Coffee Roasters, fair trade and organic coffee; Ducky Life Tea, organic teas; Olsson’s Fine Foods, hand-crafted ice cream and fresh squeezed lemonade; Shore Catch, fresh local fish from NJ’s Viking Village; Stony Brook Orchids, greenhouse orchid varieties; Twisted Tree Cafe, prepared vegan specialties; and Village Bakery, bread, muffins, and breakfast pastries.
There will also be intermittent visits by Condiment Man with hot sauce; French Kiss Desserts with brownie truffles; and Kitzel Strudel Company with Austrian strudel.
