According to Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh, the grant is part of a pilot program to provide safe and accessible means to transit facilities and promote multi-modal use.
“This new grant program from the state provided a pool of $1 million for eligible communities. It is another indication of the state’s strong support and commitment to transportation improvement-related initiatives.
According to the Mayor, a letter from DOT Commissioner Kris Kolluri, a West Windsor resident, identifies North Post and Alexander roads as an ideal location for improvements funded by the grant.
“This project provides three important bicycle and pedestrian connections and will complement the Alexander Road bridge replacement. He adds that it will improve access to the high school, library, and township municipal site.
