Witherspoon Grill hosted its fifth annual Harvest & Music Festival, which benefits Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, Oct. 13.
This year’s Harvest Festival raised $5,668 in funds and collected 14 boxes of food donations, weighing in over 150 pounds.
Food collection sites were located at the Witherspoon Grill, the Blue Point Grill and the Princeton Public Library.
The funds raised at this year’s event were a concerted effort by Button’s Creperie, Tico’s Eatery & Juice Bar, Sweet Mama, and Erika’s Face-Painting. Monetary donations also came from raffle ticket sales, straight cash donations to TASK and a pie-eating contest.
Local musicians Joe Vadala, Rest Assured, Franklin & Alison, Jon & Mike and Pi Fight performed at the festival.
The festival takes place every year on a fall day in October, on Hinds Plaza adjacent to the Public Library in Princeton. Along with live music, this year’s event featured hot food, treats, drinks and many family-friendly activities.
Over the last five years, the Witherspoon Grill’s Harvest Festival has raised $13,351.
TASK’s mission is to feed those who are hungry in the Trenton area and offers programs to encourage self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life of its patrons.
