Jackie Robinson and Brice Horwath were married on June 20 at the Merion in Cinnaminson. The wedding officiant was the Reverend Stephan Jorgensen.
A 2003 graduate of High School South, the bride graduated from University of the Arts with a bachelor’s degree in applied theater arts with a concentration in stage management. Soon after graduation she was hired as a stage manager for “Reefer Madness.” “It landed me my Actors Equity card, making me a union stage manager,” she says. “I have since stage managed various Equity shows including ‘Trenton Lights,’ ‘Pippin,’ and ‘Red.’
During the school year she coaches at Leaps-N-Bounders gymnastics and works at Tomato Patch Performing Arts program in the summer. At High School South she took a sports medicine class and worked as a student athletic trainer, but clearly her heart was set on theater — not sports. She participated in Pirate Players all four years of high school. “I started out acting in them and then co-wrote and directed some of new plays about tolerance,” she says. She applied to only one college — Philadelphia’s University of the Arts.
Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Kris Robinson. Bridesmaids included Pam Jorgensen, Jen Mealy, and Elanna Tolz. Robinson is the daughter of Colleen and Frank Robinson of West Windsor.
Horwath, a managing partner with the HVH Group, works with business start-ups. His best man was David Hankla. Groomsmen included John Ragazzo, Brian Vargo, and Nick Szupowal.
“The theme of our wedding was steampunk,” says Robinson. “We were not interested in having a traditional wedding, we wanted to put our own twist on it and make the wedding our own. We just wanted people to have a good time, while celebrating and expressing ourselves.”
