The Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre will present “Dogfight” by the Once Upon a Time Players. The performance will take place June 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. The Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre is located at 355 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road in Titusville.
Based on the 1991 film of the same name, “Dogfight” is set on the eve of JFK’s assassination as a young Marine is deployed. Continuing a tradition of the Marine Corps, he and his friends play a cruel joke on women they invite to a party. The marines have a private wager: whoever brings the least attractive girl wins the prize money. It is the story of the loss of innocence for the soldier and his date while also paralleling the loss of innocence of the United States.
The Once Upon a Time Players was founded in 2006 and is a professional performing arts company dedicated to bringing high quality theatre at low cost while creating a unique, meaningful and entertaining theatrical experience. Lead by artistic director Brendan Stackhouse, the Once Upon a Time Players celebrate their 10th season with the production of “Dogfight.”
Included in the cast are Alex Ward as Corporal Eddie Birdlace, the marine, and Hannah Quinn as Rose, an awkward idealistic waitress. Also included are Bucks County actors Amy Bishop, Brian Dratch and Jonathan Zeidler as well as New York actors Ashely Burger, Christopher Herr, Courtney Kenyon, Dan Kriss and Max Meyers.
The production is directed by Brendan Stackhouse with musical direction by Garret Healey and scenic and costumer design by Matt Iacozza.
Tickets for the show are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 12 and younger and $12 for seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the Open Air Theatre Box Office a half hour prior to the performance.
