Twin “W” Volunteer First Aid Squad will hold a health fair at its first open house on Saturday, October 10 and 11.
The squad’s emergency medical technicians will offer free blood pressure screening to all adults and will give tours of the ambulances to all children during the event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 10 and from noon to 4 p.m. on October 11.
In addition, the squad is hoping to get members of the community to sign up for one of its upcoming free CPR classes. The squad is in the middle of its annual fund drive and hopes to show the public how its members are trained and what it needs to continue providing its service.
Over 20 active EMTs respond to nighttime emergency calls in West Windsor. Last year Twin W volunteers responded to more than 600 calls, 400 of which resulted in transports to local hospitals, a press release said.
The open house will be held at the squad building located at 21 Everett Drive behind the police station and courthouse. For more information, contact Jan Sun at 609-799-4383 or E-mail openhouse@twinw.org.
