Shauna McWoods and Michele Minter, both of Plainsboro, are among the honorees in this year’s YWCA Princeton Tribute to Women program. The 14 women, chosen from area businesses, organizations, and educational institutions, will be honored at the 24th annual YWCA Princeton’s Tribute to Women awards dinner, to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Carnegie Center on Wednesday, March 15, at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are $125.##M:[more]##

Candidates are nominated by managers, colleagues, and peers in the workplace and in the community. All of the honorees were judged on criteria that took into account academic achievement, professional responsibility, community service, demonstrated leadership, mentoring of others, ability to communicate ideas, special projects or accomplishments, and commitment to the YWCA’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women.

As senior manager of Strategic Sourcing for Novo Nordisk, Shauna McWoods uses her more than 20 years’ experience to make critical decisions for operational improvement and significant savings. Dedicated to the company in their fight to find a cure for diabetes, she participates in walks for the cure. She also volunteers with the Plainsboro Historical Society, and tutors grade school and high school students in math. She holds a bachelor degree in industrial engineering from Northeastern University.

Michele Minter, director of development for Princeton University, oversees a staff of 90 and fundraising offices that raise $300 million annually. In addition to this key leadership role, she has dedicated the last several years of her professional and volunteer life to strengthening the voices of the underrepresented. She spearheaded the “Women in Leadership Initiative” at Princeton University, and has served as a leader for the Princeton Area Community Foundation’s Fund for Women & Girls.” She serves as a volunteer board member for the NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund, and is a member of Princeton University’s “Diversity Working Group” that identifies best practices and programs that eliminate barriers to advancement based on gender or ethnicity. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, and a master’s degree from City University of New York.
