As vice president of staffing and diversity for Tyco International, Mallett has responsibility for the strategic design and implementation of the organization’s total staffing requirements. In addition, she is responsible for developing and implementing a corporate-wide diversity strategy addressing issues such as workforce representation and retention, and work-life effectiveness.
Prior to joining Tyco in 2004, she was vice president and chief diversity officer at General Mills where she developed and implemented a senior management accountability strategy. One of her proudest accomplishments was the design and implementation of a co-mentoring strategy for women and people of color.
In addition to the work she does in the private sector, she is also active with several non-profit organizations, advocating for the fair treatment and inclusion of women and people of color in all aspects of society. Mallett received her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees from Michigan State University.
The Tribute program was established nationally by the YWCA to honor women who have made significant contributions to their professions and community in executive, entrepreneurial, professional, educational, and elected roles. Candidates are nominated by managers, colleagues, and peers in the workplace and in the community.
Kristin S. Appelget, director of community and regional affairs for Princeton University, and a former West Windsor resident, is chairing the program.
