Trenton Thunder is set to donate proceeds from its ticket sales from its Aug. 27 games to Trenton Police Detectives Edgar Rios and James Letts, who were wounded in the line of duty.
The team plans to donate 100 percent of its sales purchased with the code TRENTONPD to the detectives. Funds are set to offset family costs.
In addition, officers from the Trenton Police Department are set to sell 50/50 tickets during the game. Half the proceeds will go to a and half will be donated to the wounded officers. The Thunder added a new twist to the 50/50 for the night as autographed items from the 2013 team will also be awarded to selected ticket buyers.
The Aug. 27 game against New Britain is Macy’s Back To School Night with Macy’s prizes awarded during the game. It’s also Kids Eat Free -kids 12 and under receive a free food voucher- and Dollar Dog Night . The game is scheduled to begin at 7:05pm.
