I am busy packing for my trip to Minneapolis. I am headed there for four days to attend training on various destinations with a focus on Europe. Each fall, I try to attend seminars/conferences to learn more about the various travel destinations, forms of travel, and new trends. As a travel professional, I believe it is important to learn so I can better serve and help my clients. In addition to this trip, I will also be attending the American Express Learning Forum in October, which will further assist me in explaining the benefits associated with the blue box for travel.
In addition to the seminars and conferences, I visit several different destinations and resorts each year. This year I concentrated on the Caribbean and visited 11 resorts in the Dominican Republic and will be going to Jamaica in a few weeks to inspect several different resorts. In December I will be taking a Christmas Markets River Cruise on the Rhine River on AMAWaterways. Building relationships with vendors, tour operators, and vendors are just some of the reasons for this type of travel.
An agent with experience and knowledge is vital in helping customers identify and have the best value vacation. There are several good reasons to use a travel agent when planning your vacation.
A travel agent is a customer advocate — We work for our clients, not the travel provider.
A travel agent should provide individualized, personalized service and expert guidance — We provide a travel needs assessment. We know what it takes to coordinate a great vacation that is the best value for our clients. We are here to ensure you get where you want to go, when you want to go, and for the best price.
A travel agent can save you money — A vacation is not just about price, but value. If the hotel was not in the right location, or the cruise line was not the right one, it doesn’t matter how much was saved. Our agency does not charge for any additional services, all of our services are FREE! Our agency also may have access to exclusive offers with travel suppliers that are not available to the online agencies.
A travel agent can save you time — With an agent you can trust, you don’t spend what little free time you have scouring and surfing the web or trying to piece parts of the trip together. Agents also work with suppliers the consumer may not have access to. Don’t make planning a vacation a second job. It is our full-time job.
