Reock & Roll Revue, led by keyboard player Tom Reock, returns to Kelsey Theater on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2. “A Life in Music — Then and Now,” features music from the 40-year career of Ernie White, a Trenton songwriter and guitarist. The show will include appearances by numerous performers, including White, who will debut his new album, “Coming of Age,” in its entirety. This is his first album of all new material in many years. Tickets are $25.
“Coming of Age” is a concept album that focuses on life’s big moments including childhood, the first kiss, the first car, the first break up, the first child, the loss of one’s innocence to war, and the trials of this world. “Yet always dreaming of a better future, ‘Coming of Age’ is a musical journey through life,” says White. “I hope you enjoy the ride.”
White’s own musical journey extends from his home town of Trenton to the world stage. He was signed to Casablanca Records in the early 1980s as a member of Sam and the Band, and later to RCA Records with the heavy metal group Aviator. White has released four solo CDs and has played throughout North and South America. He has also written music for network television.
In recent years, White has been a mainstay of the Trenton music scene, donating much of his time to charity events. His annual Christmas Show has raised more than $150,000 for local charities. He has also been a teacher and mentor to many young guitarists throughout the region.
