Looking for a great science program for your children? Interested in a local Maker space, summer science camps, or one-day workshops? Need a fun and exciting birthday venue? With LEGO robotics, 3D printing, game design and programming, electronics, basic physics, chemistry, and engineering, all involving lots of do-it-yourself projects, scienceSeeds offers a wealth of STEAM-based programs for children ages 4 to 14 and their parents.

The brainchild of Michal Melamede, a Stanford and Columbia graduate with a MS degree in computer science, and Michel Debiche, a geophysicist with a PhD from Princeton, scienceSeeds’ programs are designed around hands-on projects and activities. When children experience science through building and try to configure a circuit out of some wires, batteries, and paper clips, they make the connection between theory and practice and realize that science is everywhere around them.

From the initial “Wow!” where something seems like magic, our students observe, experiment and learn the science behind the magic until that “Aha!” moment when all the information coalesces into understanding. Then the students harness the power of their new knowledge to make something new and different: the “Cool!” stage. Our students become absorbed in the process of learning by doing.

This summer we are introducing game design camps, Scratch programming, robotics camps, all girls camps, and some half-day programs for our youngest students. We’ll have a Harry Potter camp, Star Wars Science, and much more.

With small class sizes and camps our very high teacher-to-student ratio allows us to challenge our students while ensuring that they remain engaged and excited about science. Our instructors, all science enthusiasts, are always looking for new and engaging technologies and projects to share with your children.

Our science-themed birthday parties are a great way to celebrate your child’s special day with all of their friends. Choose one of our custom party packages or let us design a special party for your child. He or she can spend a fun-filled afternoon building their own toy to take home!

We are very excited to be launching scienceSeeds Makes, in which our studio becomes a Maker Space for you and your children. This spring we will be start our first series of classes in which children discover the wonders of woodworking as they build tool boxes and foosball tables.

Our new online store launches this May! There you will be able to purchase project components as well as pre-packaged kits for many of your favorite projects. Let us do the prep work as we provide you and your children with all the necessary components and step-by-step guides on how to build the most popular scienceSeeds creations! One of the first kits available for purchase will be our Personal Spin Art Kits, a longtime favorite.

Additional information on all our programs and offering can be found at www.scienceseeds.com. Summer camp registration opened Sunday, February 15, and Spring Maker sessions registrations open Sunday, March 1. Please e-mail registrar@scienceseeds.com with any additional questions.
