Amid balloons, giveaways, comedians and good fun, residents of the newly opened Assisted Living Programs in Trent Center East and West and in Luther Arms celebrated in style. The Assisted Living Program is the latest addition to the array of senior services offered by St. Francis Medical Center. This new service is available to seniors who reside in publicly subsidized housing communities in Mercer County. This unique approach offers a full array of health care and supportive services to qualified residents that will allow them to stay at home with the dignity and respect they deserve.
The Assisted Living Program (ALP) serves residents who are medically eligible for nursing home placement but provides the services in their own home. ALP provides personal care, light housekeeping, supervision, home health aides and the case managed services and care of a professional nurse. The program also connects seniors with services such as personal emergency response services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical supplies, adult day health care and equipment.
Currently, the St. Francis ALP is operating in both the Trent Center East and Trent Center West buildings located on Greenwood Avenue in Trenton as well as Luther Arms, located on South Broad Street in Trenton. The program currently serves approximately 40 residents but is growing rapidly.
