#b#Football: Knights Give South a Scare#/b#

It’s a cliche, but it’s also true. When two classic sports rivals play each other, you can throw won-lost records away.

On November 9 South (8-1), rolling through its season with the county’s all time leading rusher, hosted a winless North squad (0-9). But that didn’t stop North from establishing an early 14-0 lead.

The Knights’ Tyrone Parker scored both early touchdowns, and after a botched extra point attempt on the first score North completed a two-point conversion on the second.

After that, though, it was all South. Brian Schoenauer scored all four touchdowns on the way to the Pirates’ 28-14 win, including a 36-yard run to break the 14-14 tie.

Both teams play in state action on Friday, November 16, at 7 p.m. South hosts Middletown South. North visits North Brunswick.

South: Rushing: Schoenauer, 200+ yards, 4 TDs. North: Rushing: Parker, 153 yards, 2 TDs.
