Boys’ Track

North: The Knights claimed their second Group III team championship, with 99 points, on May 24, the last day of the two-day, 16-team sectional final tournament. Tyler Corkedale took first in the 800,with a time of 1:57.0 an the 1600 with a time of 4:18.10. Joe Rosa finsihed with a time of 4:18.99 in the 1600 for second place. Jim Rosa took first in the 3,”200 with a time of 9:09.39. Ryan Sleeper placed third in the 800, 1:57.79. Matt Kelly placed seventh in the 800, 1:59.99. Nick Kozar came in fourth in the shot put at 46-10.25. Corey Abernathy won both the shot put and discus titles.

South: A second place finish at the two-day Colonial Valley Conference group meet on May 23. Sam Macaluso won the 3,”200 in 9:29.18 and took second in the 1,”600. Jeff Riemann took the gold in the Group IV 200 meters. Alex Prieto placed third in the long jump, and Brian Schoepfer placed third in the 800.

The 3,”200 relay team of Sam Macaluso, Kevin Foy, Brian Schoepfer, and Nick Schmidt won its event at the 7th Eastern Regional Relay Invitational on May 18 with a time of 8:10.84. In the 6,”400 relay, South came in second, 19:20.50.

Girls’ Track

North: Chelsea Walters and Rian Williams placed second and third, 14.64 and 14.72, respectively, in the 100 hurdles at the two-day groups meet on May 23. Trish Reilly placed second in the 800 with a time of 2:18.48.

South: Katie Kellner took first in the 3,”200 with a time of 10:55.69 at the two-day CVC groups meet on May 23. Caroline Kellner took third in the event. Ashleigh Delemos won the Group IV girls 100 hurdles, 14.75. The 4×400 relay team finished third with a time of 3:59.72.

The 400 relay team of Caroline Tuck, Ashleigh Delemos, Dahila Amade, and Joey Gambatese came in first in its event at the 7th Eastern Regional Relay Invitational on May 18 with a time of 50.44. South took second in the 3,”200 relay, 9:58.39. South’s sprint medley team of Caroline Tuck, Delemos, Emily Mauro, and Gabi Hunter took first in its event, 4:14.59. Mariame Fadiga came in fourth in shot put with a 33-6.
