Peddie School senior Roman Horoszewski of Princeton Junction has been accepted to Princeton University and will join the Tigers’ NCAA Division I swimming team next year.
Horoszewski considered other Ivies and Navy, but he felt most comfortable with Princeton’s academic reputation and the strength of the coaching staff.
“It was a tough choice that came down to Princeton and Navy,” said Horoszewski, a mid-distance and distance freestyler. “I was on my Navy recruiting trip, actually, and they had a dual meet against Princeton while I was there.
“Rob Orr of Princeton was definitely a major factor in the process, as he is a very charismatic and knowledgeable coach. His new assistant Mike Joyce is fun to be around and did good job making me feel wanted and so much a part of the team.”
A member of two Eastern Interscholastic Championship teams, Horoszewski finished third place in both the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events in 2015.
Later this month Horoszewski and his Falcon teammates will vie for their third Eastern title in four years.
