West Windsor resident and 2008 South graduate Anthony Aloi qualified for the United States Amateur that were held this month at the renowned Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, OK. He qualified with a two-day total of 147 at the Ridge at Back Brook, where he finished second in his sectional qualifier.
West Windsor resident Claudia Siniakowicz defeated Margaret MacArthur, also a West Windsor resident, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3, in the Girls 12s Division final at the Princeton Junior Open, which was held at the Princeton Racquet Club earlier this month. Brandon Frank, also of West Windsor, defeated his opponent in the final three sets.
Emily Schroeder, a West Windsor resident and an 8th grader at Grover Middle, as well as a swimmer with the Hamilton Aquatic Club, finished first in the 50 butterfly (30.07, tying the state record) and in the 100 butterfly (1:06.34) in the girls 11-12 division at the Eastern Zone Meet at Penn State University earlier this month. She also placed third in the 200 fly, fifth in the 200 individual medley, and swam as part of three relay teams who finished in the top 6.
She also was the high point scorer in the girls 11-12 age group at the New Jersey Long Course Junior Olympics, held at Rutgers University. She finished first in the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 100 butterfly, and 200 butterfly. She finished second in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 200 individual medley.
West Windsor resident Patrick Park, also of X-Cel, was the high point scorer for the boys 13-14 age division. He finished first in the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly. He finished second in the 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 IM, and third in the 200 freestyle.
