A loss to Manasquan, 4-3, on February 1. Goals: So, Hanafee, Wong. Assists: Nestel, Rothman, Cangelosi. South took 30 shots. Stafford made 23 saves.

A win against Lawrence, 15-0, on January 30. Trent Hanafeee had four goals. Mike Nestel had two goals. Junichi Hara, Keegan Martell, Joe Cangelosi, Chris So, Alex Senopolous, Adam Rothman, Dan Katz, Matt Bright, and Sunny Rathor had one goal each.

Wrestling

A 12th place finish, with 79 points, at the Mercer County Wrestling Tournament on February 2. At 215 pounds, Newman, in the consolation finals, had a pin, 2:45. Ted Hirt, at 140 pounds, had a pin, 11-4, in the semifinal.

North Kieran Jones took first place in the Mercer County Championships with a score of 208.9 on January 30. Jones placed fifth at the Jim Roach 11-Dive Invitation on January 23.

Michael Casarona finished fourth at the Jim Roach 11-Dive Invitational on January 23. Mallory Swanson placed thirteenth, and Danielle Erickson placed fifteenth.

A win at the North Brunswick Invitational on January 18. Casarona placed third; Mallory Swanson was the Pirates’ top female.

Boys Winter Track

North A second place finish at the Mercer County Championships on February 3. Anthony Lee placed sixth in the boys’ two-mile run, with a time of 9:56.4. Tyler Corkdale won the 800 meters in 2:01.71, and placed second in the mile. Steve Au-Yeung placed third, and Ryan Sleeper placed fifth. In the two-mile, John LiPuma placed third, and Jim Rosa placed fourth. LiPuma placed fourth in the mile, and Rosa placed seventh. The 4×400 relay team took sixth. In the shot put, Barnett Wu placed third, and Corey Abernathy placed fifth. Jay Lee placed second in the pole vault and sixth in the 55 hurdles.

South A fourth place finish at the Mercer County Championships on February 3. Brian Leung placed first in the mile with a time of 4:19.40. He also won the two-mile in 9:24.39. Keith Griffith was fourth in the 800 meters. Sam Macaluso was fifth in the two-mile and sixth in the mile. Matt Foster tied for third in the high jump. The 4×400 relay team placed fourth.

Girls Winter Track

North A fourth place finish at the Mercer County Championships on February 3. Trish Reilly won the mile, and second in the two-mile. Kelly Callahan placed fifth in the 800 meters. Kailee Andrucyk placed fourth in the two-mile. The 4×400 relay team placed fourth. Ryan Williams placed fourth in the 55 hurdles; fifth in the 55 dash; and sixth in the 200. Chelsea Walters placed third in the 55 dash and sixth in the 200.

South A third place finish at the Mercer County Championships on February 3. Sammy Howell won the high jump. Katie Kellner placed fourth in the mile, and won the two-mile in 11:16.11. Ashleigh Delemos placed fourth in the 55 dash. Gabrielle Hunter placed third in the 400 meters. Ting Ting Zhou placed fifth in the two-mile. The 4×400 relay team placed third.
