The Trenton Thunder announced that the team will welcome several MLB guests to Arm & Hammer Park this season.
On May 9, Tony Clark will take part in pre-game ceremonies and throw a ceremonial pitch in honor of the 20th anniversary of the first Thunder game played in Trenton.
Clark played in the Major League for 15 years and was an Eastern League All-Star during the Thunder’s inaugural 1994 season. His number, 33, was the first to be retired by the team. He was also the first former Thunder player to be selected to the Trenton Baseball Hall of Fame.
The game will include an entrance giveaway of Tony Clark Mini Bobblehead Dolls.
On May 19, former MLB umpire Al Clark and author Dan Schlossberg will visit the Thunder to sign copies of their new book Called Out but Safe: A Baseball Umpire’s Journey.
Clark is originally from Trenton and umpired 3,392 major league games in his 26 year career including during two World Series, two All-Star Games, five American League Championship Series and three American League division Series.
On May 31, Justin Pugh, the 2013 NY Giants First Round Draft Pick will be at the 2:05 p.m. game where he will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs.
Pugh is a three time All-Big East Conferences honoree who started all 16 games for the Giants as a rookie.
On July 29, Mitch William, a former Major League player and an MLB Network analyst will throw a ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs from the start of the game through the third inning.
Williams played in the Major League for 11 years where he was known by the nickname “Wild Thing” and earned 192 saves with the Rangers, Cubs, Phillies, Astros, Angels, and Royals.
He was elected to the 1989 National League All-Star team and was a member of the 1993 National League Champion Phillies.
