Carolyn SooHoo, a science teacher at High School North, has been accepted into the 2008 Astronomy Research Based Science Education Program. She is one of 18 teachers from around the country chosen for this innovative and competitive summer program.##M:[more]##
SooHoo will be involved in a 13-week on-line preparation program and attend a summer workshop in Tucson, Arizona, including a work station visit to Kitt Peak National Observatory. The work involved in this program will allow SooHoo to engage High School North students in astronomy research. This pioneering program, sponsored by the National Optical Astronomy Observatory, allows high school science teachers to become master teachers in research-based science education.
