On Saturday, January 24, the Harlem Wizards are coming to Robbinsville.
The Wizards are a professional basketball team that focuses on entertaining their audience with tricks and showmanship. Instead of participating in regular league play, they perform at fundraisers for schools and non-profits.
The Wizards will take on the Robbinsville Hoopsters, a team of staff and administrators from all three Robbinsville schools. Representing Sharon Elementary School are Kristin Aqualino, Jeanae Ayala, Courtney Belets, assistant principal Nicole Bootier, Jennifer Cranmer, Peggy Damm, Kathleen Diefes, Bryan Fleischhacker, Kevin Keener, Pete Klapsogeorge, Jodi Kulin, Jennifer Larsen, Liane Librizzi, Carolyn Mahon, Sharon Martin, principal Janet Sinkewicz, Jillian Vaz, Margaret Walsh and Megan Wells. Representing Pond Road Middle School are Jess Castronovo, Renee Cucinotti, Karen DeRossett, Marissa Dilts, Marissa Dolan, Suzanne Guidry, Blake Kilgore, Mike Passafaro, Nick Reed, Dan Rotante and Morgan Taylor. Representing Robbinsville High School are Shae Fahey, Jeff Fisher and Curtis Wyers. Superintendent Steve Mayer will also be on the team.
Additionally, some staff members will be participating as cheerleaders including Deb Dauer, AnneMarie DelleGrotti, Sylwia Denko, Cherie Gehle, Terri Indrikovic, Amanda Matticks, Kristin Michalkowski, Rachel Reilly and Lauren Wescott from Sharon and Patti Irilly, Shelly King and Linda Zaff from Pond. Robbinsville High school teacher Tim Fahey will serve as announcer.
The matchup begins at 1 p.m. at Robbinsville High School.
The event is being sponsored by the Robbinsville Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of all students who attend the Robbinsville Public Schools.
