It’s easy for residents of a town to think they truly know their local politicians, and why shouldn’t it be?
Mayors, councilmen, administrators and the like are often scrutinized, especially during election season. They are constantly in the local public eye, so they become familiar.
Their lives outside of politics, though, are another story. What do they do outside of municipal business? In order to really get to know some of the township’s most prominent figures, the Robbinsville Advance took a closer look at the two mayoral candidates. We delved into the lives of incumbent David Fried, the only elected mayor in township history, and challenger Dave Boyne, currently a councilman, to get a handle on what these two men are really about.
Fried and Boyne’s political profiles—along with those of the three candidates for township council—will run in the November issue of the Advance, just in time for election day on Nov. 5. The November edition will also feature introductions to the candidates running for state and county offices.
And, on the subject of voting, don’t forget this month’s special election for U.S. Senate. Democrat Cory Booker faces off against Republican Steve Lonegan Oct. 16.
