Robbinsville High senior Shriya Vankdara recently received the Congressional Medal, the United States Congress’ highest honor bestowed upon a youth civilian through the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, for her volunteerism.
Vankdara has volunteered more than 400 hours at NAMI Mercer and Homefront, working with people living in poverty and with mental health issues and abuse.
Established by Congress as a public-private partnership in 1979, the program recognizes initiative, service and achievement in people aged 13-23.
