Police are set to close multiple roadways for the Princeton Half Marathon Nov. 3.
Streets and intersections along the race route are scheduled to be closed to traffic beginning 7:30 a.m. When safely possible, traffic will be allowed to cross the race route by officers posted in those intersections.
The race route begins at Paul Robeson Place and crosses Route 206 to Hodge Road; Library Place to Mercer Street; Mercer Street to Battle Park; through the park to Olden Lane to Battle Road, then Springdale Road and onto West Drive; West Drive to Alexander Street, then onto Faculty Road and north onto Washington Road. The route crosses Nassau Street onto Vandeventer Avenue.
The race continues down Vandeventer Avenue to Wiggins Street/Hamilton Avenue, north onto Walnut Lane and East onto Franklin Avenue; Franklin Avenue to Linden Lane, then east onto Hamilton Avenue across Snowden Lane onto Rollingmead Street; Rollingmead Street to Deer Path, north on Clover Lane, then to Overbrook Drive to Snowden Lane; Snowden Lane north to Herrontown Road; west to Bunn Drive to Poor Farm Road; Poor Farm Road to Mount Lucas Road heading south.
In the final stretch, runners head from Mount Lucas Road to Jefferson Road To Wiggins Street, crossing Witherspoon to finish at Paul Robeson near Chambers Terrace.
Prior to the race, Paul Robeson Place is set to be closed at Chambers Terrace starting at 4:30 a.m. Witherspoon Street is set to be closed between Hulfish Street and Paul Robeson Place and Paul Robeson Place closed between Witherspoon Street and Chambers Terrace beginning 6 a.m.
No overnight parking will be permitted in the central business district or along the race route roadways from Nov. 2 to 3. Police are set to post “Emergency No Parking” signs in the race staging areas overnight prior to the race.
