For the second year, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Rescue Mission of Trenton have partnered to host a collection drive.
During the month of June, the Central Jersey Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be collecting clothing and furniture to benefit the Rescue Mission.
Donations can be dropped off 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. on Sundays at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 177 Princeton-Hightstown Road, Princeton Junction.
The Rescue Mission of Trenton is the agency in the City of Trenton that serves men and women who have no place to turn for shelter, food, and clothing. The Mission provides a safe, clean, warm refuge for the homeless, the hungry, the transient, and the addicted.
In 2012, the Mission’s emergency shelter provided services to over 1,400 adult men and women.
The shelter is open daily from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m.
“The Rescue Mission is especially grateful for the generosity of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Last year their drive generated hundreds of pounds of clothing and furniture for those in need” Rescue Mission CEO, Mary Gay Abbott-Young, said in a statement.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a Fortune 500 financial services organization and the nation’s largest fraternal benefit society.
