Adam Schuit, a junior at High School North, was awarded the Princeton Prize in Race Relations for his efforts to improve race relations in the schools and local communities. Princeton University President Shirley M. Tilghman presented the award at a reception on May 23.##M:[more]##
Schuit was awarded the prize in recognition of central New Jersey’s inaugural Ten-Commandments Hike. He organized more than 125 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts to walk together for four miles to five houses of worship including churches and a synagogue, with Christian, Muslim, and Jewish leaders presenting at each stop. He, along with two other scouts, involved local politicians and religious leaders to create an ecumenical experience.
