Barbara Warren will exhibit this photograph as well as other works at the “We Are More Than Our Diseases” exhibit by the Princeton Photography Club.
The Princeton Photography Club will present an original photographic exhibit entitled “We Are More Than Our Diseases.” The exhibit will run from Aug. 14 through Sept. 6 and will have an opening reception on Aug. 14 from 6-8 p.m. The opening reception will take place at Gallery 14 located at 14 Mercer Street in Hopewell.
The scope and spirit of the exhibit is captured in the experience of one of the principal exhibitors, Barbara Warren. In “We Are More Than Our Diseases” Warren, a breast cancer survivor, explores the emotional journey a person makes when he or she has cancer. In her series of images, Warren examines her physical conquest of cancer, the spiritual conquest of cancer experience by a close friend and the story of their friendship.
In addition to Warren, other photographers featured in the exhibit include Joel Blum, Ilya Genin, Scott Gordon, Janet Hautau, Wayne Klaw, Fay Kobland, Randy Koslo, Christine Stadelmeier, Vivien Van Natta and Jon Walker. Each artist has their own emotional experience to share through photographic imagery.
The exhibit is free and open to the public and will be shown at Gallery 14. The gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5 p.m.
There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with the photographers on Aug. 16 from 1-3 p.m. Meeting with the photographers offers a further opportunity to understand more about each person’s individual path to healing.
