Changes, they are a-comin’ in downtown Princeton Junction — and residents living in neighborhoods in the area want to make sure their voices are heard.##M:[more]##
While West Windsor Township, in conjunction with the state and county, is considering a transit village on the west side of the Princeton Junction train station, redevelopment of the east side, and the reconstruction of Route 571, residents who would be affected by those changes are holding an open public meeting on Thursday, February 17, at 7 p.m. in the West Windsor Senior Center.
“There is a lot going on right now, and it’s really important for people in the neighborhoods to be aware and informed,” says Harris Road resident Susan Conlon. The meeting has been organized, she says, by “a group of concerned citizens who have joined together to form a neighborhoods’ coalition that will serve to inform, educate, and advocate for positive improvements in Princeton Junction.”
“One of the key issues for us is traffic. We need to make sure that considerations are made (by the township) for the infrastructure we have now and that current needs are addressed before the town moves forward.”
Conlon says the group wants to make sure that residents are heard by officials before they decide to move ahead with any major decisions. “This meeting will be an opportunity for people to come together and discuss their concerns and see if we can make sure they become part of the process.” For information call 609-936-1916 or 609-987-8708.
